It only takes one... EXACTLY. That's the number to be worried about but all the modern day “climatologists” & “meteorologists” forecast doom & gloom EVERY year and that's why people let their guards down. We are a country that is susceptible to hurricanes and we have a hurricane season every year so it will happen. Maybe if the weather people chill out, get away from Vegas style odds predictingand focus on when, not if, hurricanes form and give good information. Noone should ever be caught off guard from a hurricane unlike tornadoes.

Mike, maybe talking about these issues is not your thing, maybe it could be. Either way, as a Florida resident, you should definitely be aware: My wife and I are also Florida residents. We had to gut our house after Ivan, and we just prevailed after a 4 year battle with insurance over Sally damage. What we learned during out litigation over Sally damage was VERY disturbing. From 2020 through 2023, the insurance lobby had been VERY successful in Florida, getting multiple laws passed to their benefit. Desantis signed them all into law, then went on a world tour in which he touted his success to insurance exces about how he made Florida safer for them, again. One of the laws removed the right to attorney;s fees in property insurance cases. For about 50 years, under Florida law, if you had a claim, and you had to sue to get your claim paid, you were entitled to to have you fees paid. So you sued to $100k in damage, your attorney had $80k in fees, you win, insurance had to pay your damages PLUS your fees. Now, though, that has been removed. You can still only sue for your damages. But now, when you win, you have to pay your attorney out of what you win. You wont have enough to repair or rebuild your house. Ethical attorneys will not take those cases. Unethical attorneys will leave non-wealthy people unable to repair their homes. This law took affect in March 2023. THIS is the gator under the water that no one knows is there, but it is the thing that will eat most people.

I'll take the dust anyday. This "season is over"...not sure who is saying this, but they need a history lesson. The season is not officially over until November 31st. I remember when there was a wave...on December 5th.
